The solar charger is lightweight, rugged and charges devices quickly.
It has a multipurpose strap and 8 Nos. of nylon loops for attaching the solar panel to any support such as backpack or any equipment or for hanging it on wall for sun exposure. Has an adjustable strap of length 24” to 48”.Unfolded size is 2.8ft length whereas the folded size is 10.63” x 8.25” x 2.63”.
The solar charger has 2 USB ports. One of the ports has a 1A output current rating and the other has a 2.1A output current rating. The 1A port can charge small battery devices such as iPhone and other smartphones. The 2.1A is the exact current output match for any tablet device and should be able to charge the tablet devices at the rate of wall outlets.
The drawstring weather cover which comes with the product is very thoughtful. When you are camping and suddenly the weather goes wild and it starts raining cats and dogs, you can use the cover to protect the solar panel and the devices from the rain and dust.
It is rated to deliver a maximum power of 14 Watts. Certain charging cables may give different power output. Before connecting the device for charging, allow 30 seconds exposure to the direct sunrays for steady state attainment.
Device charging time
The charger would take between 7 and 9 hours to fully charge a 10″ (or so) tablet. It would charge an iPhone 4S completely in about 2-3 hours.
Make sure you prevent the USB devices from overheating. If overheating occurs then the charging of the device stops immediately. As the carry case has provision for storing other accessories, it should not be overloaded in order to avoid damage to the solar panels.
