Jackery mini portable battery pack is compact, light and packs a punch. The battery pack works well for a quick charge during long flights, road trips, or whenever you need to charge your mobile devices. It’s not meant to charge large batteries like that of iPad. Even with iPad it does a pretty decent job.
Seems like Jackery has improved the mini charger by upping the battery size to 3200mAh from the previous size of 2600mAh. Generally batteries have the values of 2600mAh or 3000mAh or 6000mAh or 10,000mAh or 15,000mAh. But 3200mAh is an odd battery capacity, no idea why Jackery wanted the charger to be 3200mAh.
This review is for Jackery mini 2600mAh, but I have indicated the differences between the 2600mAh one and the newer one, by using red boxes. Read on to find out.

The newer 3200mAh version comes in orange and gold color
The Jackery mini has a cuboidal compact structure made up of premium aluminium casing. On one side of the Jackery you can find a power button and 4 continuous LED lights to show the remaining battery capacity, each of which points to 25% of the remaining charge.
Way below the power button there is a nice white Jackery logo. On the top we have a 1A/5V USB output port and a micro USB input port.
I got to say, the Anker 3000mAh lipstick charger resembles this charger very much.
The external battery has an in-built 2600mAh lithium ion battery. The Samsung Grade A cells and premium microchips present in Jackery battery will ensure high quality charging. The battery is secured with 4 layers of smart safety protection circuit.
The newer 3200mAh version has Lithium polymer battery instead of Lithium ion, which is more efficient than the latter.
Self discharge is minimized by the advanced power lock technology, which can extend the standby time upto 6 months after fully charging it. A lifetime of 500+ recharge is expected from the battery pack.
On the downside, Jackery mini has a energy efficiency of 65-70%, which is lower compared to the charger with 90% efficiency-the highest for any small charger. You can check out the best handy portable charger comparison article to know more.
Battery charging time
The in-built 2600 mAh battery will take 3 to 5 hours when input via the standard USB or a AC adapter(not included with the product). To charge the internal battery plug in the USB to micro USB wire, micro USB to the battery’s IN-port and the USB pin to the laptop.
Apparently the newer 3200mAh battery seem to charger within 3 to 5 hours, which is the same charging time as the older one.
Device charging time
The Jackery mini can charge an iPhone completely to it’s 100%. It can add 10 hours of extra talk time to your mobile phone. The battery can be charged as well as can be used to charge a device at the same moment.
For heavy battery capacity devices such as Samsung S4 it can add upto 60% charge. You can expect your iPads to get around 30% extra charge from the fully charged mini charger.
The Jackery is not charging any device?
If you have this problem, one thing you have to try before you think of returning it back is-connect the Jackery mini to your device, press the power button for a while, it should start charging in most of the cases. This instruction is provided in the instruction manual.
Has a 12 month manufacturer warranty from the time of purchase.
The newer 3200mAh version has a 18 month warranty period.
- Highly portable, looks great.
- Good and solid build quality.
- The technology used in building the portable battery is convincing.
- The LED charge indicator can’t be found in the other brand external batteries in the same price range.
- Only one color option(not anymore).
- The product seems to lack quality control when mass produced.
- Poor, unclear instruction manual.
