Are you guys anxious about the product’s compatibility with your device, don’t worry. Keep calm and believe in Anker’s PowerIQ™ technology. PowerIQ™ technology maximises compatibility. It detects your device and delivers the fastest charge.
The product is compatible with all Apple and Android smartphones, tablets (including Nexus 7) and other USB charged devices including GPS units.
Unfortunately it is not compatible with the following devices:

Product Dimensions: 9.2 x 6.7 x 0.8 inches (folded) / 19.2 × 9.1 × 0.16 inches (unfolded)
Weight: 13.8 ounces
The product is very compact. It is roughly the size of an iPad Air when folded and weighs less than a pound. Its well-placed eyeholes allow easy attachment to backpacks while hiking, tent or even trees.
It has two solar panels. The solar panels can be folded and secured with Velcro strips. The solar panels are masked with industrial-grade PET plastic and are bound together with heavy polyester canvas, equipping this solar array with ultimate weather-resistant durability.
The product finish is high quality as you can notice from the “Anker logo” print and the sturdiness of the panels.
The solar panels do not attract finger prints. The product is very simple to use as there are no buttons to press. We just need to unfold the panels and put them in the sun to start charging our device.
The solar charger has one charging port with an output of 5V / 1A.
The 8 watt mono crystalline solar array is 15-18% efficient, providing enough power to charge one device at a time. High-grade solar panels and premium circuitry ensure lifetime reliability. PowerIQ™ technology enables charge speeds of up to 1 A per port under direct sunlight.
For optimal use, minimize the solar panel’s exposure to water to protect electrical components. For charging, always use your device’s original cable or a third-party certified cable.
Device charging duration
It takes around 6 hours to charge an iPhone 5C ( 0 to 100%) [real time- much faster if it is a clear sky or hot weather conditions]
For charging a Samsung S III using this 8W charger it takes 6 hours. (0 to 100%)
When this charger is used to charge an Anker® 2nd Gen Astro E3 10000mAh pack (from 0 to 100%) it takes around 16-17 hours.

- The first plus point with this charger is, it is rightly priced. For a 8W you can expect a quality product like this to cost anywhere between $40-$55.
- The charger is portable, compact and suitable for light weight backpackers.
- It has a rugged build quality.
- While charging, the device can get heated up, keep the device in the shade, the panel in the Sun.
- Doesn’t work to its full efficiency during overcast conditions and on rainy days. If there is a cloud passage, the panel stops and shows an error message, even though the charging happens (continues) at a much slower rate. We need to unplug and plug to solve it.
- Only one charging output port.
