Flatbed and Step Deck Pre-Trip Inspection — Check Every Point Before You Pull Out

A missed pre-trip item on a flatbed becomes a DOT violation at the first scale house. Run the full list before you leave.

Work through the pre-trip inspection checklist for flatbed and step deck trailers: cargo securement, lighting, axles, coupling, and documentation.

FMCSA Part 392 and 393 require a pre-trip inspection before every trip. A failed cargo item is an out-of-service order. A documented pre-trip is your legal record.

WSTDA T-9 — Retire any strap with visible damage or broken fibers

Count all straps and add their individual WLLs
